I'm just now getting around to installing the Release Candidate (4) setups. I'm finding that the iPad 2 I'm testing with keeps timing out when trying to connect to my local server hosting my CW environment including Mobile Enabler. I'm wondering if the connection timeout might be due to my iPad 2 having iOS 5 on it (I noticed in the CW documentation that iOS Version 4.3 is the highest officially supported).

Has anyone had any luck using Cubeware Mobile BI on an iPad with iOS 5?

Hi Seth,

Great to hear you are trying out our app!

IOS5 should not be causing this issue and 4.3 is only the minimum version. Most of our devices used for demo purposes are running on iOS5. Most likely it will be a firewall restriction.

You can test this by using your local browser and access http://<COMPUTERNAME>/CubewareBI. A picture should come up and there will be a link to the AppStore. If this works you can be sure that the mobile web layer is up and running.

If not you should check the settings of the Windows Firewall. The HTTP, HTTPS services must be enabled on Win7, SRV2008. For XP, SRV2003 IIS, MobileEnable and MobileWorker executable, Ports 80 and 443(SSL) and 4444-4500 must be enabled.

Kind regards,
Stefan

The test via my local browser acts as expected (screenshot attached). I am still getting the timeout when trying to connect via the app on my iPad, message dialog reads as follows:

-------------------------------------------------

Kommunikationsfehler

The request timed out.

I started to make adjustments to the External Settings as mentioned in the Help file, although it doesn't seem to be making any difference.

Can you access the URL with a browser from another machine? It should in most cases work with the browser from the same machine. But when using a browser from another machine you go through the same security setup as when connecting with the iPad.

Yes, I did test the CubewareBI URL from another machine in the office, and the App Store link with images succesfully came up.

Additionally it should be noted that from within the browser on my iPad, the URL for my Web Cockpit instance also times out. Again, the Web Cockpit hosted on my machine can successfully be brought up on another machine in the office via the CockpitV6pro URL.

I see. The most common traps / errors are definitely excluded and it is better to involve the support team. Please open up a support ticket. Thx
